My name is Jessica. I have two little boys. Chris is 9 and Alex is 5. They both have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a blog about raising these two amazing and unique boys! I didn’t know anything about ASD until Chris was diagnosed and I still learn more everyday! There is a saying, “If you’ve met one person with Autism, you’ve met one person with Autism”. The word “spectrum” is used very deliberately as there are so many variations of Autism, even between my two kiddos. They are so different, their quirks, their reactions to stimuli, the way they see the world.
In addition to being a mom, I also work full-time. I recently started working in a position as a recruiter for an organization that provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy to kids that are on the spectrum. It is incredibly gratifying to do my small part to help others that are like my boys.
